The 23-year-old singer with Scots band Speedway an icon for gay fans has hinted she prefers girls to boys.

She has always disliked her pin-up image and admitted she was a 'tomboy' as a child.

And yesterday, Jill confirmed she is in a relationship with Alex, 20.

Jill, of Paisley, dumped her boyfriend of three years and has had several dates with Alex since they met at a Speedway gig in Preston, Lancashire, a few months ago.

The pair even spent time together in Glasgow last week.

Last night, a friend of the singer said: 'Jill has a very sexy image and had no shortage of male admirers, including Mick Jagger.

'She could have the pick of hunky men but after meeting Alex there was a special spark between them.

'She has never been happier. Jill is looking forward to playing at T in the Park next week but Alex won't be there.

'She didn't think it was fair to steal the limelight from the band.'
