DOCTOR DICK: 'I'LL NEVER SAY SORRY'1

FAME Academy head Richard Park has broken his silence over the X-rated outburst that sparked hundreds of viewer complaints.

The ex-DJ, who was nicknamed Dr Dick, was caught on camera making an obscene gesture and swearing at the BBC show's co-host Patrick Kielty.

Park's rant sparked uproar and more than 450 viewers called the BBC forcing the broadcaster into an immediate apology.

But yesterday he claimed the gesture was not meant to offend Kielty.

Defiant Richard refused to apologise but admitted his wife had been appalled.

He said: 'I wasn't making rude gestures at Patrick. I was just casually telling him to get out of here by shooing him off the stage.

'I didn't know anything about it till the missus texted me saying, 'You didn't just do what I think you did?' My mother was slightly surprised when she saw the story in the Sunday Mail and phoned me. Once I explained, she thought the whole thing was hilarious.'

When asked whether he had to apologise to Kielty, 34, Richard, originally of Kinghorn, Fife, said: 'You must be joking. I would never apologise to him. I did nothing wrong.'
