An "American Idol" finalist will remain on the show despite revelations about his past run-ins with the law, Fox network said Thursday.

The network issued a statement after the investigative Web site The Smoking Gun Thursday posted an article and legal documents that showed Scott Savol was once arrested for felony domestic violence after he allegedly roughed up his infant son's mother during a Valentine's Day fracas.
