X FACTOR judge Simon Cowell yesterday backed The Sun’s Rock The Vote campaign.

The 45-year-old TV pop guru said young people should stand up for what they believe in.

He added: “Everybody should vote. You can’t complain and say you are not happy if you don’t try to influence the outcome when you have the chance.”

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell also supported our drive to get young people to go to the polls on election day.

She said: “Your vote really does count — don’t waste this opportunity to make a difference."

She was joined by Hell’s Kitchen star Gary Rhodes. The 44-year-old telly chef said: “Politics matter to everyone — no matter how old or young.

“It’s crucial to make a difference and be heard. The only way to do that is to use your right to vote.”

Heart 106.2 DJ Jamie Theakston also backed The Sun.

He said: “This is a great campaign. There are people who have put their lives on the line to be able to vote and countries where people would still give their lives for this right.

“Don’t waste it — use it!”
