SUN By JONATHAN WEINBERG Sun Online X FACTOR fans will soon be feeling the sharp end of Simon Cowell's acid tongue - in a new karaoke computer game. Set to be a massive hit this Christmas, The X Factor Sing sees TV's Mr Nasty team up with fellow judge Louis Walsh to give their opinions on the contestants' singing. But rather than getting a virtual makeover, Simon and Louis will actually appear in the £39.99 game as themselves. It's released on October 21 and the pair have recorded special video clips - complete with their trademark put-downs - that come on screen after each solo or group effort. Gamers use a microphone connected to their PC or PlayStation 2 to sing along to one of 20 tracks, from the likes of Natalie Imbruglia and Sugababes. As they sing, the game analyses their tone, pitch and timing of their voice to give a verdict on the performance. Marco Minoli, of makers Black Bean, said: "It's a really exciting title which will appeal to a massive audience. It's fun and incredibly entertaining." Dom Wheeler, of FremantleMedia Licensing Worldwide which owns The X Factor brand, added: "Black Bean has done a great job in translating the essence of The X Factor into a hugely entertaining and interactive game and we are confident it will be a bit hit with fans of all ages." This is not the first time Cowell and his famous barbed comments have appeared in a computer game. He was turned into a cartoon version of himself for the official Pop Idol title. |
