I think Louis could be a right bitch if he thought he could get away with it.

Abdul heaps praise on Cowell

Paula Abdul has hinted her rivalry with fellow American Idol judge Simon Cowell is a sham, after heaping him with praise.

The pair have feuded throughout four seasons of the hit talent show.

But the singer has revealed affection for the sharp-tongued British record executive.

She says: "He's given a much-needed dose of reality to reality TV. Real cruelty is letting people believe in a dream they can never live up to.

"Simon's a man who gives credit where credit's due." breakingnews

X Factor judge has ears syringed

X Factor judge Louis Walsh - who was accused by Charlotte Church of being deaf - has had his ears syringed.

Louis, who discovered Westlife, visited a Dublin clinic for treatment, says the Sun.

He said: "I got them syringed so that I could get my hearing back to normal.

"I don't know if it's to do with the singing I've had to put up with at X Factor auditions. It was just a minor thing but it makes a difference in my job."

Charlotte recently said: "I like Simon Cowell and love Sharon Osbourne but I think Louis Walsh has lost it.

"Is he deaf? He keeps putting people through who are dreadful." ananova

SIMON'S MIXED 4TUNES

X FACTOR'S Mr Nasty Simon Cowell has picked 4Tune to be one of his final acts to spite rival Louis Walsh - who dropped the band last year.

A TV insider said: "Simon's revenge will be sweet if 4Tune become massive after Louis threw them out.

"Simon managed last year's winner Steve Brookstein, but he has faded away, while Louis's band G4 are now even bigger."

Meanwhile, Simon's X Factor stylist Sinitta has revealed how a plan to stitch up Louis has backfired.

Sinitta said: "We were told we would be getting the same categories as last year.

"So Simon picked groups he thought were c**p, because he thought Louis would be managing them.

"When he found out he had the groups he threw such a tantrum - he wasn't happy." Mirror

Simon didn't want to put those twin sisters through on last weeks show - the ones who sang Waterloo. Louis and Sharon put them through just to annoy Simon, as they have done with a few other acts this year as well.

So Louis has had his ears syringed? I wish he could have had that done before he took on the blandest band in the world (that would be Westlife).

Sharon booted out Michelle.

I reckon that the producers lent on Sharon because of Michelles 'past'.

An X Factor finalist jumped into Sharon Osbourne's pool holding a microphone plugged in at the mains.

Former goatherd Chico Slimani's dangerous leap stunned even Sharon's husband Ozzy, reports the Mirror.

A source said: "Chico wanted to impress and thought plunging into Sharon's Beverly Hills swimming pool would be a brilliant finale to his act.

"He'd forgotten he was holding a microphone with a lead from an amplifier - plugged into the mains.

"He was lucky not to be electrocuted."

Judge Sharon had taken her seven over-25 finalists to her US home. She is now their mentor and must select four to go on to the studio competition.

Louis Walsh took the age 16-24 finalists to Dublin while Simon Cowell and his group acts went to Spain

THE X-Factor (ITV1, last night). And time to say "welcome back, buddy - we sure missed ya" to the one man who can lighten up your Saturday night without even saying a word.

Yes, it's Sharon Osbourne's right-hand man, Silly Connolly. Some people are born with style, others spend their life searching for it. Silly clearly just accepted his fate early doors.

Memo to Simon Cowell. If you haven't already done so, please, please tell The Asda Mom - on camera - that her Boot Camp is to be given a new name.

Old Boot Camp.

I cannot understand how Chico is still in the contest. He's not very good, and he is unbelievably arrogant. Also, I was surprised that James got through from Louis' category. He is cute as a button, but I didn't think he sang particularly well. Disappointed that Sam (the really tall guy) got kicked out though.

----------------------- Still in it: The Brothers FK0335-B

X Factor hopefuls The Brothers were convinced they were on their way out of the TV talent show after Simon Cowell slated their dancing ability.

The four-piece boy band were all doom and gloom after the first day of the boot camp stage of the hit ITV1 show, screened on Saturday, after failing to impress TV's Mr Nasty. But despite the criticism the band have made it through to the final 21 acts.

Twins Adam and CJ Neroni, from Crystal Palace, and brothers Noel and Marc Agyei, who live in Brighton, were the talk of the first round of auditions after impressing all three judges with their rendition of the Boyz II Men track Yesterday.

But Adam says performing on day one of the boot camp did not go according to plan. "After the first day at boot camp we were sure we wouldn't get through because Simon told us he was disappointed with the way we performed, particularly with our dancing.

"He wasn't critical of our voices but said we should have stuck with the harmonies we showed during the first audition."

Adam admits Simon's criticism knocked the band's confidence but in hindsight he says it is a blessing. "We felt some of the things he said to us were harsh but he has never said anything about our singing, which is positive. But it certainly was a wake up call for us."

The Brothers have been assigned music mogul Cowell as their judge for the remainder of the programme.

"We are happy having Simon as our judge, he is the most popular out of the three," said Adam.

"We are amazed that we are still in it. We are living our dreams and enjoying every minute of it."
