X FACTOR stars are planning to surprise people living near their TV base...by going carol-singing.

All five of last night's finalists, including Journey South, have sung carols all week to warm up their voices.

And they enjoyed it so much they want to give their neighbours a treat in North London's posh Hampstead.

A show insider said: "Their house was decorated for them and it got them in the mood."

Now that Chico's gone, it's strange that I feel so drawn to him.

The first time I ever saw X-Factor was because we were all at someone from work's house and they put it on the telly. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it, so I caught it again a couple of weeks ago. I can't believe those sisters got so far, and my vote for the title goes to Journey South, they don't seem to be getting much press, unlike Chico was!!! All credit to Chico though, he was great for the show and very gracious in defeat. All the best to him.

Westlife's Shane Filan has gone against his manager Louis Walsh and backed one of Sharon Osbourne's artists to win the X Factor.

Westlife's Shane Filan revealed he wants Brenda Edwards to win the the show over Louis' act, Shayne Ward.

According Orange World Shane said: "I think Brenda's brilliant. She's the best thing since Aretha Franklin and her voice is just stunning, I think she definitely deserves to win the show."

Shane also quashed rumours that the band, who've had thirteen No 1 singles, are angry with Louis for not spending enough time on them over his X Factor artists.

"Louis' probably given us more attention this year than ever before. He's never been a massively hands-on manager but he's always on the phone and there when we need him."

Well, the good times could only last so long, and I had a feeling 'in me waters' that it was very likely that one of my two faves would be out on their ear, tonight.

I'm sorry to see Brenda go - but the only consolation is that 'my boys' (JS)managed to stay until the final.

How in the name of Jesus did Brenda get voted out tonight.? IMO, she iwas the best singer the show has ever had and I'm at a lose to understand why the viewers did not agree with me. I like JS as well, gg, but I think the female vote will win the day again and the winner will be Shayne

Agreed Madeline, Brenda outshone everyone, but maybe people didn't vote for her as they thought she would walk it. I agree that Shayne will win next week, the other two are too insipid imo.

I cannot believe Brenda was voted out and neither could the judges by the looks on their faces. Her voice is amazing and I feel she really has something to offer. It happens all the time. The good ones go and we are left with the ones we dont really want

Agreed, Can't believe Brenda got the boot. She's been one of the best contestants with one of the best voices on these type of shows. Unfortunately, I feel, because she was a woman was the reason she didn't make the final and that's a shame. Good Luck to her in the future, I'm sure she'll be singing in some shape or form and will make a wod of cash

Well am still shocked by her exit.She had the lot.The voice,the personality,looks....

Hope she takes consolation by looking at how well winning last year worked out for Steve Brookstein
