2 October 2005 People By Caroline Waterston And Alice Walker Pregnant Chelle's heartache X FACTOR blonde Michelle Thorne has blamed being pregnant for her shock exit from the ITV talent show last night. Millions of viewers saw the 32F ex-porn star burst into tears when judge Sharon Osbourne told her she hadn't made the final 21. The 26-year-old beauty said: "I'm heartbroken. X Factor was my dream and I really thought I could win. "But my pregnancy left me tired, forgetful and over-emotional and in the end I couldn't hack it. I couldn't learn the songs." Michelle, who only found out she was expecting after filming started, said she now regretted keeping her news secret. She said: "I didn't tell anyone but now I wish I had - things might have been different. When I had a one-to-one with Sharon I should have told her about the baby because I think she would have understood." Michelle, who had previously wowed the judges and especially caught the eye of Simon Cowell, admitted she fluffed her audition to make it to the last 21. She said: "It was awful. When it came to my turn I couldn't remember the words. I blew my one chance. I cried for days afterwards." Only 24 hours before the audition, Sharon had told her that she had a special voice. Michelle revealed she'd been thrilled to discover she was pregnant because she'd had an ovary removed and suffered an ectopic pregnancy in her teens. But she said: "On the one hand I was pregnant with my miracle baby, but on the other, I had missed out on a place in the final." Michelle, who has dated boyfriend Jason Brown for four years, has vowed to return. She added: "I am going to do it again next year so watch out!" |
