THE WHO frontman ROGER DALTREY has launched a scathing attack on UK TV talent show THE X FACTOR, because the contestants are "stupid".

The MY GENERATION star detests the SIMON COWELL and SHARON OSBOURNE-fronted show, and believes the wannabe pop stars value fame and fortune above making music.

He rants, "People are stupid. They're not artists. You have to go into this industry because you have talent,not because you want to sell records and make money.

"Watching those shows is like watching the Victorians watching the lunatics in the looney bin. It's sad."

Ever since TV started there have been people who will do anything to get on it, X factor is just another avenue for them, but at least in this route there is a medium of talent required over shows like wife swap and BB.
