28 October 2005 16:58:34 BST viewlondon X Factor judge Simon Cowell has angered the show's producers by forcing them to come up with a surprising last-minute change to the popular programme's format. As from this week, all the screeching contestants are going to have to wear tacky name badges while performing. This is because, while half the country has been gripped by the wannabe singers, Cowell hasn't even been bothered to learn the names of his acts. His band 4Tune got the boot last week, soon after Louis Walsh exposed this fact and producers are desperate to avoid a repeat performance. "Simon was shamed into embarrassment last weekend when Louis proved that he is spending so little time with his bands that he does not even know their names," a show insider told the Daily Star. "Now the producers have come up with an 11th-hour plan to make sure the same does not happen again because it did not look good." |

Well it explains why last years winner Steve Brookstein had such a raw deal Simon obviously forgot to promote him and then failed to remember to produce an album till 6 months later. with a manager like that who needs to win the X factor its purely the egos of the judges that are on display the hopefuls seem to take a back seat. Its a farce. |

I like Simon a lot and never actually saw the original show last week but if he didn't learn the names of his acts then it's verging on ridiculous. Learning a few peoples names doesn't take that much effort. |
