Simon Cowell has been named
Showbusiness Personality of the Year at the Variety Club's annual awards.
The polo-neck wearing guru of pop was handed the award at a central London ceremony, hosted by ex Hear'Say singer Myleene Klass.
Ranting celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay took the Terrestrial TV Personality of the Year while funnywoman Catherine Tate was honoured with a comedy award.
The late Countdown presenter Richard Whitely was recognised with a Most Popular Presenter accolade.
Co-star Carol Vorderman told the Daily Star: "He would have been delighted to realise that so many people loved him.
"It's just a shame he didn’t realise it while he still alive."
Courageous TV presenter Gail Porter was named Multichannel TV Personality of the Year for her spot on Living TV's Dead Famous.
Gail, who was married to Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave, recently lost her hair to alopecia and famously fashioned her remaining hair in a pink mohican.
