Michelle's Amazing Weight Loss

Winning Pop Idol was a challenge, but now Michelle McManus is beating the battle of the bulge, too.

The singer has revealed that she has lost nearly HALF of her body weight in recent months.

Michelle - who is 5ft 1in - has gone from 22 stone to 13 stone in a year.

And now she plans to tell all on how she did it in her new book, You Are What You Eat: Michelle's Diary.

There was help getting from a size 26 to 16, however, in the form of nutritionist Gillian McKeith.

The health expert helped kick-start Michelle on a healthy eating and exercise regime.

Michelle told Heat magazine: "The weight is still coming off easily. I would love to get to a size 12.

"I am sticking to the eating plan religiously."

Michelle will be back to reveal her new body in an update of McKeith's Channel 4 programme, You Are What You Eat at Christmas.Sky

We've all been marvelling at how Michelle McManus has managed to drop a massive eight stone under Gillian McKeith's strict regime.

So why is the diet convert thinking about having plastic surgery?

It would appear that the rapid weight loss, from 22 stone to 14 stone, has left lots of excess skin on Michelle's body.

And the only answer seems to be going under the knife to have it lopped away.

"I've lost so much weight there's now loose skin around my arms, " Michelle explains to Closer magazine.

"It's only a matter of time before I'll get it on my stomach as well. I'll probably need to have an operation to remove it, although I'll try to avoid that if possible."

If Mich does give in to the plastic surgeons, she'll be going back on a promise she made to herself back when she was much larger.

"Before I started Dr Gillian's plan, I had plastic surgeons queuing up offering me liposuction. But I said no," she tells the magazine.

"Some people said I was crazy - but I had been big for so long I needed to re-educate myself in how to live a healthier lifestyle."

Whatever she does, the Pop Idol victor should hopefully have the support of new boyf Mike - a builder she met in a London bar a few months ago.

POP Idol winner Michelle McManus is turning to plastic surgery to complete her astonishing weight loss.

The Glaswegian singer shed eight stone on a strict diet for TV show You Are What You Eat - dropping to 14 stone.

Yesterday, Michelle, 25, said: "I aim to lose another four stone this year and then I'm going to have my arms done and get a tummy tuck.

"It's not something I'm particularly keen on but it will be the icing on the cake."
