Journey South have become the first of the three X Factor finalists to be voted off the show. With the least number of the votes the pair, who if you look at the picture, seem rather pleased with the outcome will pack their bags and head back to Middlesborough with nothing but an upsetting memory. It now leaves Andy and Shayne to sing the single that will be released on the 21st next week. Article published: Sat, 17 December 2005 21:26:00PM chartsingles |

I was disappointed to see JS come third but happy to see Andy give Shanye the fright of his live. |

| Post subject: | Journey South in talks with Cowell |
Dec 20 2005 Simon Haworth, Evening Gazette X Factor stars Journey South came back to Teesside today and revealed hopes of a forthcoming album with pop mentor Simon Cowell. ---------------------------------------
Singing brothers Carl and Andy Pemberton, from Coulby Newham, were at TFM studios in Stockton. It is the first time they have been back on Teesside since they came third out of 75,000 entrants in the ITV talent-spotting competition. Today they told the Evening Gazette in an exclusive interview that they had sat down with Simon Cowell and discussed recording and releasing an album under his guidance. Andy said: "We have been in talks with him and everything is looking really good. It will all become clear soon enough. The particulars are unknown at this moment in time. All we know is we have been in talks with Simon." Carl added: "Simon is keen on working with us. That's an extremely privileged position to be in." The lads were upbeat about coming third behind Andy Abraham and winner Shayne Ward and they once again thanked Evening Gazette readers for their support. Andy said: "We were really gutted. But we have since watched the show back and we think third was a good result for us for various reasons. "We just wanted to get to the final. That was our main goal and to win was a massive bonus. We now have time to spend with our families and also have the chance to really think about what we are going to put on the album. We have high hopes." But the boys admitted that the show had probably changed their lives forever. And ultimately they may have to move with their families to London. Andy said: "We are going to try and base ourselves up here until it becomes impossible. "Our lives have changed. We have got to be careful. Nine out of ten people are really nice. The odd one wants to have a go at us." He added: "I want to really thank all the Gazette readers for all their support and texts. I sat down last night and read all the texts. They have been fantastic." Carl confirmed he had proposed to girlfriend Vic Duffy. They plan to marry in the summer of 2007. The brothers are performing at Newcastle Arena with the rest of the X Factor finalists on February 17. |

Thanks for that I was thinking that we hadn't heard any news about Journey South yet since the show. |
