Fair play to him - I was pretty sure he'd have moved down this week.

Shayne top of charts for third week

X Factor winner Shayne Ward's exceptional start to his music career continued with his debut single topping the charts for a third week.

The 21-year-old Mancunian's release That's My Goal, flew into the number one slot just four days after going on sale in December.

CDs were rushed into production immediately after Shayne was proclaimed the winner of the ITV reality show.

His success means that previously-unknown folk-pop duo Nizlopi are stuck at number two with their JCB Song.

While Madonna's single Hung Up, which samples Abba's Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!, remains in third spot.

George Best - A Tribute by Brian Kennedy and Peter Corry jumps seven places to number four while Eminem slips one to five with When I'm Gone.

The Black Eyed Peas with My Humps climb one to six and the Sugababes with Ugly also jump one place to number seven.

Next are the Pussycat Dolls who fall two places with Stickwitu followed by James Blunt with Goodbye My Lover which is stuck at number nine.

In tenth place is a new entry from the Editors with Munich. newsbox

I can't believe that Shayne is still number one!!

As for the George Best thing - obviously Northern Ireland sales don't count for the charts, because it sold huge quantities here before Christmas, but was nowhere in the national charts.

Shayne Ward - Soap Appearance

Plans are already underway to secure a soap appearance from X Factor winner Shayne Ward.

Roles have been offered from both sides, but the top idea appears to come from Emmerdale, where Shayne would land after his car gets a flat tyre leaving an appearance in nearby Leeds. waveguide

Singing sensation Shayne Ward proved he still had the X factor with a fourth week at number one.

The 21-year-old TV show winner has dominated the singles chart since Christmas Day when his debut shot straight to the top.

His continued success meant the JCB song, by folk-pop duo Nizlopi, was kept in the number two slot.

Charlotte: X Factor's Shayne is cack

Charlotte Church has blasted some of this year's Brit nominees and says X-Factor winner Shayne Ward is "cack".

Shayne is nominated in the best single category for his single That's My Goal - but Charlotte said he should "definitely not win."

According to The Sun she said: "You'd think they could come up with a half-decent song - they give him cack to sing."

She also slagged off Coldplay, Craig David, Arctic Monkeys and Dizzee Rascal.

Starting with Coldplay she said: "I find it depressing. It's a bit on the melodramatic side. Craig David's gone a bit middle of the road. It's a bit Elton John. Arctic Monkeys? Wouldn't know if I fell over them. Dizzee Rascal is a bit much for me. He sounds like 12-year-old boy on the brink of puberty."

Charlotte who is nominated for Best British Female Solo Artist at next week's awards ceremony says she is looking forward to the free hospitality.

She said: "It's close to my birthday so I'll have a double celebration - even if I don't win. I'll be drunk anyway." ananova
