Bosses at ITV have given the green light for the first-ever Celebrity Pop Idol in a bid to challenge the king of summer reality TV, Big Brother.

According to newspaper reports, celebrities will battle it out for the Pop Idol crown this summer, in a revolutionary new TV concept which will bear no resemblance whatsoever to Celebrity Fame Academy, Dancing on Ice or Strictly Come Dancing.

I can't see this working at all and after CBB I wonder what their idea of 'celebrity ' is ${

I think it loses its appeal if it isn't unknown people being given shot. That said, hopefully it could end up finally killing off the careers of a few has beens that were on their last breath anyway. :D
