X Factor judge Simon Cowell has signed a deal which will keep him exclusively at ITV for another two years.
The contract is believed to be worth between £2 million and £3 million and makes X Factor's Mr Nasty one of the highest paid TV presenters.
It will keep the 46-year-old exclusively at the channel until at least Spring 2008.
Cowell, who became a famous face on ITV with Pop Idol in 2000, said: "ITV gave me my first break on television and I'm incredibly grateful.
"We've had a fantastic relationship and I'm looking forward to another two successful years."
ITV's Director of Television Simon Shaps said: "I'm delighted that we've persuaded Simon to say at ITV.
"He is a brilliant and unique talent and I look forward to continuing to work with him both on and off screen.
"The X Factor was one of the biggest and most talked about shows on UK television last year. The third series, which starts later this year, promises to deliver the same."
The last series of the X Factor was watched by a peak of more than 10 million viewers.
Its winner, Shayne Ward, enjoyed four weeks at the top of the singles charts, and his winning single, That's My Goal, became the UK's fastest selling download track.
