JODI ON X FACTOR

FORMER Hollyoaks actress Jodi Albert is to star in the new Celebrity X Factor.

The 22-year-old TV beauty, left, is likely to be coached by Irish judge Louis Walsh - manager of her husband-to-be Kian Egan's band Westlife.

An insider revealed: "Jodi is raring to go. Kian's usually the one who gets to show off his singing but now it's Jodi."

Other stars tipped for the May 29 ITV show are Big Brother's Jade Goody, 24, and diet guru Gillian McKeith, 43. Mirror

STARS who appear on Celebrity X Factor will be paid £25,000 - with an extra £5,000 for every night they survive.

The singing celebs could pocket more than £75,000 if they go the distance on the ITV1 show, which kicks off next month.

Judges Sharon Os-bourne and Louis Walsh will each be paid a one-off fee of £200,000.

A TV insider revealed: "There's a very attractive incentive to do well.

"It's not a bad pay cheque for just a few days work - and for those who want to launch a pop career, it's the perfect platform."

Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert has already signed up while diet guru Gillian McKeith and Jade Goody are also tipped to appear.

The series will go head to head with Channel 4's Big Brother in the ratings.

Shocking.

It looks as though they are going for slightly older participants on CLI this year. I dont think its a good move.

As for X-Factor, well thats laughable, I thought they promised big names? Pah!

X FACTOR judge Louis Walsh is TV’s new Mr Nasty — saying diet guru Gillian McKeith “looks like she was hit by a bus”.

Usually mild-mannered Louis took a leaf out of Simon Cowell’s book as he blasted Celebrity X Factor contestant Dr Gillian, 51.

Louis, 53, said: “I hope I don’t get Gillian McKeith. She should be at home watching the TV instead of being on the screen.

“I don’t get this woman. She has a huge ego. She looks like she was hit by a bus. I do not want her in my category. If she is, I’m going to say, ‘Go now.’”

X Factor: Battle Of The Stars kicks off at the end of May, with Louis, Simon Cowell and Sharon Osbourne on the judging panel.

Gillian, host of Channel 4 hit You Are What You Eat, is joined by Radio One host Chris Moyles, 32.

The gobby DJ yesterday said: “I’m a big fan. I’d watch it anyway so I might as well be there and get paid for it!”

Magician Paul Daniels, his wife Debbie McGee and ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry Katona all star.

Hollyoaks star Jodi Albert is also rumoured to be taking part.

MegaStar says: 'Go Fish, go! Cowell was only taking the Michael.'

Weatherman Michael Fish rarely makes the tabloids but today is a glorious example of the ludicrousness of celebrity.

The man who famously failed to predict the great 1987 hurricane, “kicked up a storm on Celebrity X Factor by telling judge Simon Cowell to f**k off”.

The Star tells us the snaggle-toothed domehead agreed to perform Singing In The Rain and It’s Raining Men (see a pattern there?) for an upcoming series.

After his efforts, Cowell tried to damn Fish with faint praise: “That has got to be the best thing since sliced bread,” the Star reports.

At that the touchy telly cloud predicator stormed off saying, “Well if that’s what you think, then you can just f**k off. I’m out of here.”

Oooh! Touchy.

Over at the Express the same story has the most worrying of postscripts: “Among the stars who are tipped to join the actual contest are magician Paul Daniels, his wife Debbie McGee, Coronation Street actress Jennie McAlpine and Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles."

Give us strength - or at least earplugs.

CHEF Jean-Christophe Novelli is so scared about Celebrity X Factor that he wakes up in cold sweats. The 45-yearold Gallic hunk, due to sing in a boy band on the ITV spin-of f this summer, told us at the launch of his Edible Garden range at Harrods yesterday: "My 19-year-old daughter Christina has a band called Ghastly Manoeuvre and I keep begging them for lessons. I'm awful." Mirror

The show runs live on ITV1 nightly from May 29 to June 5. There will be three categories 16-24s, over 25s and groups mentored by the three judges.

She was really nasty, I can't stand that woman anyway as a rule, tonight reaffirms that opinion totally.
I thought Hewitt/ Loos were abysmal they have to go.
Moyles was great, also Nikki Sanderson impressed.

X Factor rejects attack reality TV
Quote:
Magician Paul Daniels and his wife Debbie McGee launched an attack on reality television today as they spoke of their joy at appearing on the new X Factor show.

Mr Daniels, who with his wife became the first celebrity crooners to be voted off the new X Factor show last night, said he had enjoyed a "great three weeks" of preparing as it had been "laugh, laugh, laugh all the way".

He said: "We are professional entertainers, that is what we do for a living and our job was to go in and make that studio jump and we did, it was just sensational."

Ms McGee said they had a "great time" and the reaction they had received had been fantastic. She said: "We are really glad we got booted off as they put it in the papers because we got so much sympathy from everybody."

Asked whether there were other television shows he would like to take part in, Mr Daniels said he believed reality TV programmes such as Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity were the "most boring shows on television".

He said: "Nothing happens. I am not really interested in people getting into bed with each other because I know people do that - big deal."

He added that such shows were just "boring TV". "I switched on the other night and within minutes of me channel hopping I heard some guy on about his buddies and using four letter words.

"I thought, there is no fun in this, there is no entertainment in this. This is just people being disgusting. They are the bottom end of the market. Where do they find them, you know."

He said the comedian Joe Pasquale who appeared on I'm A Celebrity was a "great entertainer" but all he had been asked to do was appear in situations such as having a box of rats running over him.

Ms McGee, said she had heard from friends who had appeared on Big Brother and I'm A Celebrity that you do not get fed very well on such shows.

Mr Daniels said one of the big surprises on appearing on the X Factor show had been how nice Simon Cowell had been.

He added that he and Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles had also got on very well.

Mr Daniels and Ms McGee had been impressed by Mr Moyles' performance and they said they believed he could win the show.

Mr Daniels said Mr Moyles had the tremendous back-up of appearing on Radio 1. He said the other celebrities they hoped might win were ex-Coronation actress Nikki Sanderson, and England and Bath rugby player Matt Stevens.

Mr Daniels said he believed Rebecca Loos and James Hewitt could be the next to be voted off the show.

The new version of the popular ITV1 show, which began last night, will run every night until next Monday.
