Maria Has The X Factor
It may be Chico Time at the top of the charts...
But another X Factor evictee is waiting in the wings.
Not winner Shayne Ward, who is already well away with his music career, but Maria Lawson.
In case you'd forgotten, Maria was a big hit on the show, but was voted off in favour of the Conway Sisters.
Remember the controversy? The boos from the crowd, fellow judge Sharon Osbourne calling it a "travesty"... see, it's all coming back.
Well, it looks like Maria's luck has changed and she's signed a record deal with Phonogenic after four other major label offers.
She said: "All I promise is great songs, some with elements of pop, some with elements of soft rock, and some with elements of soul.
"I can't believe I'm doing this, I can't believe I'm going to LA to work with people I have respected for ages, on my own album."
Maria is touring with the X Factor at the moment and has already sung backing vocals for Gabrielle and Lemar.
She's certainly dedicated - she even cancelled her honeymoon to take part in the X Factor.
Her debut album, which she has already started to write, should be out in September after a single in June.
