Man gunned down on set

CHART-TOPPER Shayne Ward was an unwitting X-tra to a shooting as he filmed a pop video.
The X Factor winner was "severely shaken" after the drive-by shooting just feet away from his set.
The 21-year-old was filming No Promises in downtown LA.
A source close to hunky Shayne tells us: "The location has a bit of a reputation but no one could have predicted that - it was a nightmare.
"The shooting came out of nowhere. We heard a screech of tyres, a long volley of shots then a car sped off. It was utterly shocking."
The crew insider goes on: "It was a miracle neither Shayne nor any of the crew had been injured - the shooting was so close to where they all were.
"Shayne was really shaken but he took it upon himself to go and speak to each member of the crew one by one to make sure they were OK. He was really concerned about everyone and anxious the guy who was shot."
The severely injured man was taken to hospital where docs are treating him.
Shayne is now safely back in Britain for a huge homecoming in Manchester on April 17, Easter Monday, the day his album, Shayne Ward, hits the stores and one week after the release of No Promises.
Some 15,000 fans are expected at the free event in the city's Albert Square and music experts claim Shayne is on course to eclipse the achievements of other reality TV show predecessors.
Our industry mole says: "Simon Cowell has chosen Shayne as his priority for 2006.
"He showed him off to a bunch of US bigwigs at a huge Sony BMG conference in Miami last week and the feedback has been incredible. The consensus is that Shayne has the whole package to break the States - looks, talent and personality."
So he won't be taking any career advice from Steve Brookstein, then.
