Page Six reports The “American Idol“ judge was embarrassed to hold up a long line in a Miami Beach drugstore, while his credit card was not accepted.
British television star Cowell was not trying to buy out a fancy jewelry story, he was simply trying to buy toothpaste and shampoo, but his American Express Black card would not work.
Witnesses claim Cowell became annoyed by the scene, which did nothing to please the already irritated customers lined-up behind him. But, always a quick wit, Cowell rushed outside to his waiting driver/bodyguard and returned to the store with a cash payment for the goods.
Cowell's representative insists the witness reports are false. They confirm the store wasn't able to read his card, but the "Idol" judge did not cause a scene: "The only productions Simon puts on are on TV."
