X-Factor reject hits out at Cowell's 'personal attack'
Quote:
Dionne Mitchell today hit back at Simon Cowell’s comments after she was eliminated in a shock double eviction on ITV’s X Factor.
The 26-year-old London student was sent off immediately after she polled the lowest public vote for her rendition of For Once In My Life.
Cowell, who has said in the past that Dionne should be a backing singer, told her she wouldn’t win after her performance last night.
At a press conference today, Dionne said: “I felt that Simon’s comments were a personal attack against me. I have always held Simon Cowell in great esteem. But last night shattered every illusion that I had of him.”
She added: “I didn’t come on this show to be a backing singer.”
Kerry McGregor, 31, who was also axed, said she disagreed with comments from judge Louis Walsh that she had “peaked”.
