EXCLUSIVE: X FACTOR'S SHARON IS FACING AXE SIMON Cowell is deciding whether to axe fellow-judge Sharon Osbourne from the X Factor. Cowell, who has just signed a £20million deal to keep the show on ITV until 2009, was left fuming by Sharon's public row with Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? host Chris Tarrant last month. Sharon, 53, launched into a foulmouthed tirade after he made fun of her husband Ozzy's slurred speech during a break in filming. Sharon said to Tarrant: "Don't you dare diss my family, you f***er." Cowell is also said to be unimpressed by Sharon's ITV1 chat show, The Sharon Osbourne Show, which proved a ratings flop earlier this year. A TV insider added: "When Simon first signed Sharon on X Factor he was convinced she'd be a big star. "Now he's wondering how much future she's got on TV." Sundaymirror |

24 December 2006 COWELL TO AXE FEUDING SHARON By Stewart Whittingham RUTHLESS Simon Cowell is planning to axe Sharon Osbourne from X Factor. Mr Nasty thinks she's a FLOP at judging contestants because she isn't witty or sharp like him. A source close to Cowell, 47, who is the show's all-powerful executive producer, told The People: "Simon has made up his mind about Sharon - and he wants her out. "He feels Sharon is a bit lacklustre and could be more entertaining with her comments." Cowell has constantly feuded with Sharon and fellow judge Louis Walsh. And he grew especially disillusioned with Sharon after poring over tapes of the show. People |

TV'S WALSH ALL SET TO BE AN EX-FACTOR THE incredible thing about ITV's The X-Factor is that it's a whopping success DESPITE, rather than because of, its cast. It's a testimony to the sheer watchability of Simon Cowell that the show can still prosper under the burden of Kate Thornton, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh. With the two females being talked about as history, attention turns to the third queen Walsh, whose only input when not making eyes at boy bands is to tell contestants, no matter how wretched, that 'they owned the stage' and 'made the song their own.' Hills make Walsh a 2-1 chance NOT to be on the panel when the X-Factor returns next autumn. Given that Cowell is not known for sentiment when something once valuable has run its course - think how he ditched those high trousers without compunction - I'd suggest the 2-1 that Walsh makes the exit his own is one of the bets of the year. Incidentally, Bet Direct offer 10-11 for Leona Lewis to have more UK No.1s than her X-Factor predecessor Shayne Ward. As sure things go that's the equivalent of Jordan, Abi Titmuss and Ulrika the worse for wear on a hen night in Blackpool, with no fare left for a taxi home. Mirror |
