FORMER BBC director-general Greg Dyke has admitted that the BBC should not have made Fame Academy when Pop Idol was already on ITV.

Dyke was still director-general when the reality talent show was commissioned.

He told the Radio Times, "I still think it was a mistake for the BBC to make Fame Academy.
