FRIENDS and family fear millionaire music mogul Simon Cowell could be heading for burn-out.
The 47-year-old has become so in demand pals are worried his feet “barely touch the ground”.
And his concerned mum Julie said: “He does have a lot on his plate.”
With a role in the sixth series of American Idol and a leading hand in ITV1’s Grease Is The Word, Cowell’s also working on Britain’s Got Talent and the next X Factor series.
On top of that is his role as mentor to X Factor winner Leona Lewis and at least five other projects with his production firm Syco.
It’s great news for his bank balance, which swelled by a whopping £40million last year, but pals are worried he’s taking on too much.
And the workload shows no signs of lessening after he recently signed a three-year deal with ITV worth £20million.
One friend said: “Everyone knows Simon’s incredibly talented and that he’s got to make the most of those talents.
“But he just seems to be doing so much that you do worry he could easily burn out. Maybe he just needs to ease off a bit.
“There’s some real worry that he’s pushing himself too hard.”
But after rocketing up the UK’s latest Rich List with a £100million fortune, friends predict he’s unlikely to sit back.
Another close pal said: “Simon’s always thinking of new ideas and, of course, when they’re put into production he wants to be part of them.
“He’s got a real hunger for success but hopefully it won’t have a negative effect on his health.”
Cowell’s mum Julie is also thought to be worried about him.
The 80-year-old, who lives in Brighton, East Sussex, said: “Simon works hard but he always has done and I am very proud of him.”
Cowell, who lives in Hollywood, regularly jets into London to work on his telly projects.
Julie added: “I do speak to him every now and then.
“I watch him on television sometimes too.”
