He used to be one of pop's nice guys... so what the hell has happened to Will Young?
Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills has accused him of committing one of showbiz's cardinal sins... snubbing young fans and making them cry.
Scott said: "Will used to be a nice bloke. I don't know who he's been hanging out with, but now he's just a k***."
It promised to be a great day for performing arts school Bitterne Park - the 2002 Pop Idol winner Will plus Radio 1's drivetime jock Scott on the same day.
But Will - who hasn't had a top 10 hit in nearly two years - wasn't in the best of moods when he turned up and things soon turned sour.
Scott, 33, said: "He refused to meet any of the children, banned all cameras and had loads of kids in tears."
A radio source said: "Everyone at the school was so excited that Will Young was going to be there, especially the children.
"But when he arrived he wasn't interested. There was really no point him coming at all.
"A lot of the children had been really looking forward to it, but they went home disappointed. Some of them were even crying." Scott said: "That wound me up. He won a karaoke contest, for f***'s sake!"
It's not the first time Will has thrown a drama queen strop...
At the Concert For Diana Will wasn't happy after his single Leave Right Now was axed from the July show - although plenty of artists had their sets cut short as well.
Last December he refused to go on stage at a charity concert in South Africa because of a downpour.
And in February, Will upset Graham Norton when he told him: "I could never go out with you - it'd destroy my career."
To which the kids at Bitterne Park in Southampton might say: "What career?"
A spokesperson for Will told us last night: "This story is ludicrous."
A source close to Will added: "Will is one of the nicest people. Scott is just a big mouth radio DJ."
Season of goodwill it ain't.
