X FACTOR stars are to release a single to raise money for forces charity
Help For HeroesAll the acts that tonight make it to the final 12 will unite behind the Sun-backed campaign to aid wounded troops.
The cover of Mariah Carey’s 1993 hit Hero will be the first charity record from the ITV1 reality talent show — and boss Simon Cowell is determined to push it to No 1.
The moving track will be performed for the first time live on the X Factor on ITV1 on October 25, in front of Simon, 48, and fellow judges Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue.
War-battered servicemen and women will be in the studio audience.
It could feature groups Chaos, JLS and singer Rachel Hylton — all in contention for tonight’s prized final 12 spots.
The single will be released on October 27, at the start of the two-week run up to Remembrance Sunday.
