I can't make head or tail of your signature GG. I hope it is clean!

::lol:: ::lol::

Your efforts in trying to crack the apparent code are admirable, Christine. However, if ever I'm not sure what something means, I Google! And a wise FM here did just that, and correctly worked out that my signature is part of the Irish language lyrics of a song called (in English) 'Heroes or Ghosts', by Dublin band The Coronas.

Irish is one of oldest living languages in Europe, and it’s part of the Celtic branch of Indo-European languages – like Welsh, Cornish and Breton. Therefore much of it will be completely different to English…however, there are words which are not traditional, but will have been taken from the English and would be more recognisable – for example ‘liricí’ is Irish for ‘lyrics’.

The song, sung in Irish, but with both English and Irish lyrics listed, can be heard on Youtube as follows:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Oee29f36XI

The lines in my signature are:

Teacht ó na scáith ag glacadh do pháirt nú(a)
From the shadows you're cast to play the part
So ná lean leat, ag cailliúint do shlí
So don't grow old, forgetting who you are
Eireoidh leat le aidhmeanna simplí
A simple goal could get you very far
'S ba léir, yeah ba léir, 'sé deacair dúinn a rá, 'sé deacair dúinn a rá
And you know, yeah you know, it's harder than it looks, yeah it's harder than it looks

(I had to stop there because of the limit to the number of characters in the signature!)

It wouldn't be a word-for-word literal translation, but would end up with the same meaning.
