HATE PREACHER Omar Bakri sparked a terror alert at the X Factor after this speech - inspired by shopkeepers in Birmingham selling CDs to raise money for British troops.
The Sunday Mercury has obtained exclusive audio files in which the exiled terror supporter calls the hit ITV show and its Help For Heroes single anti-Islamic.
His rant has led to beefed up security for this Saturday’s live show in London, as bosses fear the influential cleric could inspire fanatics to attack the studio.
The security operation, which is being co-ordinated by anti-terror cops from the Metropolitan Police, came after Bakri claimed that any Muslim who tuned into the X Factor was engaging in a “form of hatred”.
Bakri, 50, said: “Some Muslims in Birmingham are wearing the armbands in support of British troops in Afghanistan. This is a form of muadaat (hatred) of the kuffar (non-believers) against the Muslims . . . and it has dangerous implications.”
The ranting mullah, who caused controversy with his support for suicide bombers and praise of the 9/11 attacks in New York, is currently living in Lebanon after he was booted out of Britain for spreading extremism.
