AN elderly couple's final dream to see one of their favourite singers live on stage has been shattered following the collapse of a city theatre.
When Leslie Stirling (90) and Mary (84), who has terminal Hodgkins Disease, found out they were being treated to a night out at the Broadway theatre in Peterborough to see X-Factor runner- up Rhydian Roberts perform some of his operatic favourites, they were over the moon.
But the couple’s hopes of fulfilling their dying wishes to see the Welsh star were cruelly dashed after a major fire at the city theatre forced the cancellation of all its shows, including Rhydian.
