THE STANDARD has been inundated with entries from people all over the country hoping to win our competition to meet X-Factor boy band JLS when they come to Dumfries.

And one devoted fan is so desperate to meet the four-strong vocal harmony group that it took her a full day and cost £17 to write and post 50 entries in a bid to win the competition.

The only problem is, 15 year-old Lauren Winton lives 216 miles away in Aberdeen.
