FOLLOWING hot on the heels of Dove Holes man David Philips is another local singer attempting to gain X-Factor stardom. Sixteen-year-old Jessica Porter, of Errwood Avenue, Buxton, will be heading to Old Trafford in Manchester this weekend to audition for the sixth series of the ITV talent show. And the Buxton Community School pupil says: "I'm very excited and would like to go far in the competition, but I suppose it depends on what the judges think. "Aretha Franklin has a great voice and I would aspire to be like her." Last week, the Advertiser revealed how fellow auditionee David Philips was looking to impress the judges with his version of "Bringing on Back the Good Times". buxtonadvertiser |
