A road in north London has been closed to keep X Factor fans hoping to get close to their fave singers safe.

The 12 finalists have all been living together in the same house for a while, and when fans learnt where the house was they started going there.

But the fans have caused big problems for people living in the area, and at times the police had to be called.

On Thursday Barnet council said they were going to close the road outside the house for the next six days.

Councillors will look at the issue again at the end of that time, as by then half-term will have ended for lots of schools and the children won't be able to spend as much time there.

Great brawl of China as ambassador sees red over screaming fans outside house

Screaming teenage fans besieging the X Factor house have sparked a diplomatic row.

The Chinese Ambassador, whose house is next door to the contestants, has complained officially to the Government about the fans' behaviour.

Madam Fu Ying told the Foreign Office she is 'very irritated' by the relentless commotion from hundreds of children hanging around the £6m property in Golders Green, north London, desperate to catch a glimpse of the X Factor stars.
