Reality TV stars SuBo and Jedward were today hailed as the unlikely saviours of ITV after the broadcaster bounced back from a £2.7billion loss.

The success of Saturday night spectaculars Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor — both co-produced and judged by Simon Cowell — helped draw advertisers back after the worst year in ITV's history
