Well, it happened Wednesday night on "American Idol" when the most critical of the four judges heaped plenty of praise on the leadoff singer, Crystal Bowersox.

This week, Cowell sang a different tune. He seemed truly happy that Bowersox was able to sing. The day before she had to be hospitalized, forcing a switch in the singing order for the men and women.
