CHERYL Cole has filed for divorce from Ashley Cole.

After months of speculation about whether Cheryl Cole would take husband Ashley Cole back following rumours that he cheated, the Girls Aloud star started divorce proceedings.

Cheryl's lawyers have filed papers at London's High Court, citing "unreasonable behaviour" and also claiming that when she "put it to him that he had been unfaithful," he did not deny it.
