Upon her return Cheryl was confronted by four angry girls who felt that they’d been abandoned by their mentor. According to X Factor sources Cher, Katie, Treyc and Rebecca were furious when Cheryl finally turned up to see their rehearsals. “It all got very nasty. The girls were at each other’s throats – and Cheryl’s. She couldn’t believe what was going on,” revealed a show spy.
As well as being upset that Cheryl left them all alone, the girls are also convinced that Cheryl is playing favourites, “Cheryl’s been texting Katie a lot as she’s been on the edge this week and Cher is quiet needy too. But the other two interpreted this as favouritism and there were some really ugly scenes. At one point Cheryl threw her hands in the air and screamed
