Cowell: Aguilera sounds like a squashed cat!

Simon Cowell has labelled Christina Aguilera's performance at the Super Bowl as "bad".

The singer fluffed her words whilst performing The Star-Spangled Banner at one of America's biggest sporting events.

Cowell said: "It sounded like 100,000 people in a stadium had just sat on a cat."

He went on to say: "I always say this, this is what happens when you perform in front of an audience - even someone as experienced as Christina. You can get it wrong. That was bad."

Aguilera appeared on the finale of last year's X Factor. The Burlesque star performed a duet with runner-up Rebecca Ferguson.

X Factor 'voice' Peter Dickson to star in US version of show

Dickson's announcements have become synonymous with the talent show on this side of the Atlantic and he revealed at the Chortle comedy awards this week that the X Factor mogul is keen to work with him on his new project.

'I am being flown out to Los Angeles during Oscars week so I can meet the Fox executives to try to sort out a deal.

'They have to decide how British they want the show to be, and whether they want a British voice and a British judge like Cheryl Cole,' The Sun reported him as saying.

Dickson also voices Britain's Got Talent (BGT), Family Fortunes, The Paul O'Grady Show, The National Television Awards and Chris Moyles' Quiz Night, but revealed if he is offered the gig in the US he will be willing to relocate during filming.
