Xtra Factor - Konnie Huq

Konnie Huq has told a magazine she does not know if she will return to present The Xtra Factor.

The 35-year-old host said she is not worried about negative criticism she received for her fronting of The X Factor spin-off show last year, but admits she is unsure whether show chief Simon Cowell will renew her contract and admits she is unlikely to find out until the audition process for contestants is due to begin.

She told the new issue of Star magazine: “Hopefully, I will be back, but I can’t say 100%, you just don’t know what will happen.

“They always make decisions at the last minute so you can never say, ‘Yeah, definitely!’ because they could change their mind the night before.

“Any show that starts is always going to get bad press and people don’t like change. With all the other previous Xtra Factor presenters, they’ve had slack online – it’s just part of the job really.”

The X Factor - Louis Walsh

Louis Walsh has admitted that he is expecting two new faces on the X Factor judging panel for the next series.

The music manager has been a judge every year since the talent show began. He admitted that nobody has signed contracts for the next run of the reality TV talent contest.

Walsh added that he expected to return for the eighth series, but admitted that he did not think Simon Cowell or Cheryl Cole will return for 2011.

He told OK!: "No-one has been hired for it yet. I've had an off-the-record chat with Simon.

"I think I am on the show but nothing has been confirmed yet."

He added: "I think that there will be two new judges and I think Simon and Cheryl will be in America during the next UK series... I think Dannii will be back with me on the UK show."

Speaking about his ideal replacement for Cowell, Walsh suggested former judge Sharon Osbourne.

Konnie Huq Returns To Xtra Factor

Konnie Huq has insisted that she will be returning to host The Xtra Factor later this year.

The former Blue Peter host has vowed to return despite criticism over her performance on the spin-off show last year.

Konnie faced a backlash from viewers after she took over on the ITV2 show from Holly Willoughby and it was claimed that she would likely be dropped by Simon Cowell.

Huq told Vanessa Feltz that she believes that the entertainment mogul will offer her a new contract in the next few weeks.

She said: "I hope to go back to the Xtra Factor.

"I expected criticism as it was so different to what I have done before. Dannii Minogue had it too when she first started."

It had been claimed that Simon Cowell was "unimpressed" by Huq's performance on the show and is in talks to find a replacement.
