If you've ever wondered what The X Factor would be like if you removed the judges and just focused on the musical acts, then wonder no more. This two-hour long showcase of the top nine finalists from last year's series starts like every episode; the opening titles are shown on the big screens and Carl Orff's O Fortuna whips the crowd of excitable pre-teens and middle-aged mums into a frenzy. You half expect Dermot to walk on and do a piece to camera.

The X Factor Live lands loud in Glasgow

A super-sized stage for a super-sized show, X Factor has well and truly landed in Glasgow for the weekend. Featuring nine of the show's top acts, the hyperactive audience of the sold-out SECC have gone all out tonight, sporting more X's than the accumulation of One Direction's Valentine's cards.

Opening titles on mammoth screens provide the sickening rush to the start of the show. The theme tune blares loud enough to dull the excitable screams whilst enhancing your chances of developing tinnitus in later life. X Factor very much packs with the global brand punch, lights, smoke and pyrotechnics in excess to mask any of that sought after substance "X" some of our contestants may be lacking.
