In 2005, Andy Abraham decided to enter a singing contest that would change his life for ever.

That contest was the X Factor, a TV show which was then in its infancy. Andy, mentored by judge Sharon Osbourne, got all the way to the final, eventually finishing second after being narrowly beaten by Shane Ward by 1.2 per cent of the public vote.

The public fell in love with the soulful singer, who before entering the contest had worked as a bin man and a bus driver in London.
