After the cruelty of Boot Camp (hands up if, like me, you’ve been permanently scarred by the unbearable sadism of the musical chairs) and the histrionics of the Judges’ Houses round, we’ve finally arrived at the live shows. It’s been a bumpy road for the contestants, who have spent months on one of those clichéd emotional rollercoasters that people always go on about.
