This isn't as good as last years but then you never know what will happen in the last couple of weeks.

They aren't a bad bunch but don't like Peter or his singing style.

Alistair makes it bearable to watch.

Don't mind who wins coz the winner usually fizzles out anyway.

I Don't think the BBC really market this program very well.
If it was on a commercial channel it would have been more popular IMO

I haven't been able to get into it at all this year..... by this stage last year I was addicted with all the interactive antics. I actually did put it on interactive last night. Chris and Alistair were chatting in the garden but I thought "I really don't care" and turned it off.

....he makes a change from the usual, pretty-boy dullards, usually associated with these programmes.
His Libertines-style military jacket and Julian Casablancas/Damon Albarn/Jarvis Cocker routine, is great to watch - if a little contrived.
.....i doubt Carrie Webb has ever heard of The Libertines or Julian Casablancas, which makes her "expert" opinions even more hilarious.
The closest she's ever got to alternative, is Billie Piper. :-?

problem with fame academy in my mind is that it was put together because the pop idol thing was so popular its concept is not as good as idol to me and they are using 2 wannabes from pop idol namely the grants who wanted the higher profile but really they havent changed anything the panel just try to be like the idol panel except put downs are not as good as simons, david not as stupid as peter and carrie not as nice as niki

Yeah I think they have got it all wrong this year... I agree Bren, they have tried to make it like Pop Idol and it doesn't work. Simon Cowell, love him or hate him, is usually right with his comments but Park in FA comes across as a complete t****r!

.....Cowell is beginning to get interesting.
He's switching his attention, from the "pretty girls/boys", to
contestants with obvious talent.
He's noticed the publics disenchantment with plastic, manufactured pop, and this seems to be his attempt to cash in.
As for Richard Parks- i think most of his comments/critisisms are entirely justified....the biggest prat on that programme is Patrick Kielty. :-?

that patrick kielty or whatever is name is - is the male equivalent of kate lawler a terrible presenter and hes killing the show

I think simon cowell's views have changed because of his stint in the usa they are not as image obessesed as the uk when it comes to music they demand talent hence their finalists in the last series and the eventual winner and mabe its rubbed off also the yanks will not accept anything less than good LIVE performances which so many of our so called stars today cannot deliver was a prime reason the likes of gerry halliwell couldnt get usa releases for her records - well if his views have changed and hes looking for talent thank god

FA has the danger of turning into the Kielty v Parks show.

They should spend less time talkimng about each other and more time giving opinions on the pupils...it all gets a tad boring.

I agree.

I feel that last year it was so.... special. If you know what I mean cos it was different and it had pop idol and BB kind of rolled into one.

It really let people showcase their talents because they could write their own songs and when it came to the live performances they had a massive stage to work their magic on.

I also prefered the balance last year, I thought the group of students all had different styles and qualitys and stuff but I don't really feel the same with this bunch.

I still like it though. I just wish that the showdowns had been at shepperton, the better live link with the news and stuff was there and most importantly they showed the tues and thurs shows cos u really got to know the students in them.

Carolynne to win!

yeah , i agree ... i think its basically kielty trying to make a name for himself.... and its taking the spot light away from the acts themselves.
parks is there to give an opinion on the acts , kielty is there to host the show ... they should NOT be getting involved in slagging matches.... this week was pathetic ....
on a different note , peter is complete pants and i reckon any week that he is not saved by the public the judges will save him ... complete rubbish
