I personally think the people coming out of these reality shows don't have any staying power, ok they can sing a fair song but none of them especially this years contestants have anything extra that isn't being put out in the charts at the moment. If Will Young retired tomorrow would the British music suffer or would Gareth Gates leave any big hole if he suddenly disappeared.

From what I have been hearing from teenagers themselves very few listen to chart music including my cousin who is 16 years old. Her friends are now buying a lot of older music that was released 10+ years and the indy scene. My cousin loves REM, Bob Marley and White Stripes at the moment.

I also think top of the pops is finished, we all know the chart music is fixed any way, not many people today is interested in who makes number one in the singles charts. More people are interested in buying albums, I think if top of the pops wants to survive then I think they should change to meet this. I have to admit that the Album Chart is a bit more diverse with the likes of Will Young and Red Hot Chili Peppers in, but then it always has been.

What's with Gareth Gates's new hairstyle anyway? It looks like Oddbod from Carry on Screaming!

Well..... that was a complete upset! I was so shocked, but seeing as Mark comes from my hometown, I'm so chuffed!!
I would however, like to point out that I do NOT have an accent like Mark's!

The papers are going to go completely mad round here next week. He's scheduled to be at the radio station 5 mins away from me on Monday... I might pop along lol!

I really want Mark to win now.....thought it would be Sam too....But Mark is such a sweetie...you could tell he was so gutted for Sam

Well done to Michelle & Mark. It's so good to see the most talented contestants end up as the final two.

well Im quite happy with final two - on the night I personally thought they were better though we all hear and see different things good luck to both - sam will do well I have no doubt

It is always sad when someone has to go. But I'm happy Michelle and Mark are in the Final. Sam will be okay, (look at Darius).
