Viewers of Turkey’s runaway ratings hit, Popstar, have forgiven the quirky talent contest favourite for what they now believe to be the terrible mistake of his youth — “murdering a cousin in a fight”. The news, revealed three weeks into the final televised rounds, had shocked the nation and made the front page of the daily broadsheets, but that night the Turkish public showed that they believed the couple of years he served in jail was enough .....'
