MICHELLE McMANUS is storming to No1 — but she shouldn’t feel too comfortable.
The Glaswegian winner of Pop Idol sold 30,000 copies of her first single All This Time in one day.

But when WILL YOUNG won the first series in 2001 he sold a staggering 400,000 copies of his debut Evergreen on the first day — more than 13 times what Michelle is shifting.

And 10,000 of Michelle’s sales have been in her native central Scotland.

The gap shows the difference in popularity between the first and second series of Pop Idol.

quite frankly no matter who was the second series winner they would not do the same sales as the first is no reflection on popularity is just that when will won was the first time

I was very surprised that Michelle won the show. Nothing against her, but Sam was better and so were a couple of the girl singers.

Time will tell, I don't like her voice though.

The song isn't to my taste at all, but then again, I must be different to everyone, I hated the Christmas number one with a passion, it is the most depressing song I have heard and i can't believe that many people bought it, and i can't even bring myself to listen to it!

Also, Chris Moyles played Michelle's song this morning, and it has some of the same background tunes as Evergreen!!!!!!

.....i wasn't very impressed with the Xmas Number One, either. :-?

...and you're right about Michelle's single, -there is a similarity
to Evergreen. ::lol::

I don't mind the song but I really don't like the way she sing it...her voice isn't my cup of tea.
