Javine Hylton Exclusive

She's been attacked for stealing the Strictly star's husband but here singer Javine reveals.. 'WHY I'M BACKING ALESHA'

Alesha Dixon will have an unlikely supporter when she takes to the floor in the Strictly Come Dancing final on Saturday - Javine Hylton, the woman she lost her husband to.

Last November, Javine, 25, was exposed for having an affair with Alesha's husband, MC Harvey, and the now-pregnant singer was immediately cast as a villain. She was branded a marriage-wrecker, singer Jamelia called her "a slag" and her outraged ex-boyfriend raged that Harvey had traded in "a Bentley for a Skoda".

But Javine is now offering an olive branch to her love rival and says she'd like to see Alesha scoop the Strictly crown.

"Alesha is doing brilliantly and good on her," she says. "It might sound strange for me to say this but I genuinely want her to be happy and I really hope she wins."

But reflecting on the past year, Javine, who is now seven months pregnant with Harvey's child, says she wouldn't change a thing.

"I'd do it all again," insists the singer, who first shot to fame on Popstars: The Rivals. "The only regret I have is the hurt I caused. But Harvey and I wouldn't be together without hurting people."

On paper, Javine is a cold, heartless, home wrecker but, in the flesh, she is surprisingly warm.

"I'd probably be the first to say 'bitch' right now, if I hadn't been through it," she admits. "But it crept up on us. The feeling, it was a whirlwind. Neither of us have ever felt like that. Our love was like a force and people could feel it wherever we went.

"I've heard people say they've been immediately convinced a guy is going to be the father of their child. I thought stuff like that was strange, until it happened to me.

"Love overruled everything - our reputations, where we'd get our next job from... it was hard but I was willing to give things up. When you know, you know. Harvey's definitely The One."

Javine met Harvey while rehearsing for the West End show Daddy Cool, which they both starred in. She says their bond was forged from friendship and they were as close as "brother and sister".

"We were in denial for ages," Javine recalls. "We rehearsed for about eight months and just struck up a friendship. We never flirted. He was like my older brother. I was a bit wild and he was a good mentor. Friends said they saw it happening but I was oblivious.

"We kept saying the four of us should go out to dinner - my boyfriend, his wife - but I think subconsciously we were trying to hold back."

Javine is too coy to reveal the details of the first "moment" between them but admits they were smitten. "The emotional side happened quickly - we kind of fell in love instantly," she says.

In turmoil, Javine went home to her music producer boyfriend Karl Gordon and ended the relationship. "We were fighting all the time," she says. "I just thought what am I going to do? Do I forget both of them and just be on my own? Let him save his marriage?

"I couldn't go back to my boyfriend when my heart was elsewhere. I was petrified. I made the decision to forget it and carry on as normal. But our feelings were too strong."

In the days before their affair was uncovered, Javine and 28-year-old Harvey spent hours discussing what to do. "I knew what I'd be doing to my life and my career but everything changed," Javine reveals. "I knew what I was risking and that I would hurt people. Harvey knew what he had with Alesha. We were planning to come clean but then we got caught out."

There are various versions of how the couple were rumbled by Karl, and Javine rolls her eyes in response. "We were not caught in bed, romping," she states. "We weren't swinging from chandeliers. My boyfriend didn't walk in and see us naked on top of each other.

"One morning, Karl decided to come to the house. He walked in, saw Harvey, who had been staying in the spare room, and that was it. There was no fighting, no confrontation. Then Karl called Alesha and told her."

Although Javine was relieved their feelings were now out in the open, she faced an unnerving two days as Harvey sorted things with Alesha - his wife of 12 months and girlfriend of five years. "I told Harvey that he didn't have to leave Alesha," she insists. "As much as I loved him I had no right to ask him to leave his wife.

"He came back to me and said: 'My home doesn't feel like my home any more. I want to be with you.' And I thought: 'Wow, this is moving to the next level.'"

Does she feel guilty about stealing someone else's husband? "You can't steal someone," she says. "It was his decision. I did feel bad. I felt worse for Alesha than my ex. Then there were reports that Alesha and I were best friends, when we hardly knew each other. It made me a calculating bitch.

"I fell in love and I'm sorry that doing so hurt her. But there's nothing I can really say, is there?

"The word 'sorry' isn't going to make a lot of difference. But until you've been through it - that whole forbidden love - it's mindblowing, it's so powerful. It made me realise that I've never truly been in love before.

"We're not horrible people, we just couldn't control our feelings. Should we have ignored it and then him be unhappy at home? If he were my husband I would rather he told me the truth."

Javine reveals she has seen Alesha once in the past year but says that their meeting was remarkably civilised.

"It was awkward but we are two women who aren't going to be seen fighting in public," she says. "I'm sure she wanted to give me a few slaps around the head. But we conducted ourselves really well."

Now the furore of the affair has blown over, Javine is looking forward to being a mum. It hasn't been an easy pregnancy - she suffered from terrible morning sickness and has had acupuncture after pulling a muscle in her chest from a persistent bad cough. However, her skin is glowing with health.

"I can't wait to be a mum," she smiles. "I'm looking forward to meeting this little person and sharing all the information I know. I'm having a water birth, no epidurals, just water, gas and air. I'm not too posh to push!"

She and Harvey don't know their child's sex yet but are already bickering over baby names.

"Harvey loves all these names like India and China," she scoffs. "I like Reece and Bailey. I'll have carried this child for nine months, so I think I should get to choose.

"We both like Rica for a boy and Sahara for a girl. We also have two other names but I'm not going to say..."

So is Harvey excited about being a dad? "He can't wait!" Javine says, her eyes shining.

"He's going to be amazing - the best dad in the world.

"I can't wait to see them together. It's going to be mindblowing."

Strictly Come Dancing Final, Saturday, 5.50pm and 9.25pm on BBC1.

Alesha's blood is going to boil when she reads this

We love Alesha Dixon here at heatworld. She's had a rubbish old year, what with her husband going off with Javine and then announcing they're having a baby – so now that she's heading into the Strictly final, things couldn't be going better. Which is why we're sure that Alesha will be REALLY PLEASED when she hears that Javine – yes, the woman who nicked her husband – has said she's backing Alesha to win SCD. "Alesha is doing brilliantly and good for her," says Javine. "It might sound strange for me to say this, but I genuinely want her to be happy and I really hope she wins." Nice, Jav – we're sure that'll spur Alesha on. Oh hang on a second – Javine also says about the past year, "I'd do it all again. I did feel bad, but you can't steal someone." Um, we think you'll find you can, love. Keep your gob shut.

ALESHA: I'M TERRIFIED

SEXY Alesha Dixon fears she could be too hot to trot away with the Strictly Come Dancing crown tonight.

The odds-on favourite is worried about falling victim to a backlash because she is such a good dancer.

Her cha-cha-cha has been described by judges as the sexiest dance ever seen on the BBC1 show.

But many of tonight’s expected 15 million viewers – the biggest TV audience of the year – may vote for “underdog” Matt Di Angelo because they feel sorry for him.

Mis-Teeq diva Alesha, 29,admitted: “I was quite shocked when I saw how favourite Rhydian missed out in last week’s X Factor final.

“I realised the same thing could happen to me. Matt is a strong dancer and I think it is
50-50 who will win the contest.

“I just hope people watch both performances and then vote for the person they think did best.”

Alesha, who has suffered back spasms, added: “I’m getting through on sheer willpower.

“I’m black and blue all over. I won’t be dating for months.

“I’m also worried about my partner, Matthew Cutler, who hurt his back lifting me. It’s not as easy for him as it is for Matt to lift his partner.

“I am so pleased to have got this far. But I will be very, very scared for the final.”

Eastenders hunk Matt, 20, is just as frightened.

The 9-4 outsider has been texting partner Flavia Cacace at all hours of the day and night.

And he has been waking up in a cold sweat, terrified that he has forgotten his dance steps. He sighed: “Flavia works me so hard.

“I go to bed thinking about the steps and wake up and text her to try and get her to help me work them out.

“I’ve been dreaming about the dances. They’re all I think about.”

Matt has been romantically linked with the brunette beauty and even has her picture on his mobile phone.

But he insisted: “We’ve got a great chemistry between us, but there’s nothing going on – except the dancing.

“I hope we remain friends after Strictly. I think she’s fantastic. To dance with a world champion like Flavia is just the best.”

Strictly Come Dancing, BBC1, 5.50pm and 9.25pm.

t's Matt v Alesha

It's the last tango in Studio One. After nearly three months of tears, tantrums, sequins and sambas, Strictly Come Dancing reaches a climax tonight.

Singer Alesha Dixon and EastEnder Matt Di Angelo will go toe-to-toe in the grand final, each performing five dances with their professional partners Matthew Cutler and Flavia Cacace.

It promises to be the most fiercely contested final in Strictly's five-series history.

But before Alesha, 29, and Matt, 20, take to the dance floor for the very last time, we caught up with them to find out their innermost thoughts on the raunchiest show on the box.

ALESHA'S HIGHS AND LOWS

Best Dance: The waltz. We'll be performing it again in the final tonight. I love the song A Time For Us by Johnny Mathis. The dress was beautiful and we managed to get all the steps right. I also managed to get into the emotion so I felt really great about the performance.

Worst Dance: Probably the samba. I didn't really execute it as correctly as I could have and my legs were really lazy. We still did well score-wise but I wasn't happy with it.

Most Embarrassing Moment: Forgetting the steps to the paso doble! I made up the last 30 seconds but because Matthew is so brilliant, he just followed me and we got through it. People said afterwards we did a good job of covering it up. We had a good giggle about that when we finished filming.

Best Backstage Secret: Ooh! I probably shouldn't be telling you this but it's the last night so it doesn't matter any more. We drink white wine backstage before the show and tell the bosses it's apple juice. Ha!

Favourite Outfit: All my costumes have been amazing but my Viennese waltz dress was one of my absolute faves. It was pink with lots of layers and it made me feel like Cinderella. It was beautiful.

Best Strictly Mate: Probably Letitia Dean and Kenny Logan. Tish because we're both girls and she's such fun. We had some good giggles together. Kenny and I had some brilliant banter. He's a top guy. And of course, my partner-in-crime Matthew.

Worst Injury: I did something to my knee in week three and had to have physio. We were doing the jive which is all about knee action and quick movements. It was touch and go. Thankfully I made a good recovery and things all turned out fine in the end.

Favourite Judge: I don't have one. Not because I don't like any of them! Each offers a different perspective.

Worst Judge: Arlene can be the scariest. Having said that, her comments are always constructive and helpful. I take on board what she's said.

Weight Lost: I honestly don't know. I don't "do" scales. I do the seafood diet. I see food and eat it! Ha ha! I've toned up a bit but when you're training your appetite increases.

Celebrity Fans: Lots of people who've come to watch the show have said lovely things about me - Michael Ball, The Fonz, Lisa Snowdon and the legend that is Cliff Richard.

Biggest Fan: My nan. She's obsessed with the show - probably more than me. She's been down at the studio quite a few times and she'll be there tonight.

Most Fanciable Contestant: Matthew Cutler, of course! That goes without saying. I wake up every morning and look forward to training with him. I love him.

I have a passion for dance, for raising money and for having fun and it's been great to do that with him. When I have to stop dancing with him I'll be very sad.

Alesha On Matt: He's a cheeky chappie. He's like a little brother to me and I always have a good laugh with him. He's good-looking so I can see why the ladies love him.

RAMPS' VERDICT

Last year's champion, cricketer Mark Ramprakash, 38, is backing Alesha to win.

He says: "Alesha's been the most consistent dancer. Even at the start, she was very good. Her timing is impeccable and she acts out the dances so well.

"In sport, if you score the most number of goals or the most runs, you're successful, and Alesha has scored the most 10s in the show's history.

"Matt has been inconsistent, but he's had some great routines and has a real flair for dancing.

"I think it was his salsa when he really caught the eye, and looked like he was dancing naturally and enjoying it."

MATT'S MOMENTS

Best Dance: The salsa was my favourite and my best dance. It's hard for a guy to let himself go like that, and we got two 10s from the judges. We're doing the salsa for the final.

Worst Dance: The Viennese waltz in week six. Arlene said I looked a bit "vacant" but I was concentrating too much on the steps.

Most Embarrassing Moment: Having my trousers pulled down by Kenny Logan during group dance rehearsals. Thanks, Kenny!

Best Backstage Secret: I kiss Anton Du Beke every time before I dance... on his head, that is, not on the lips

Favourite Outfit: The Ballroom tango outfit - that was cool. It was tails with a cravat and my hair was slicked back.

Best Mate On The Show: The Flavster. And Kenny Logan is fab - I call him Dad. He rang me the other morning and said "Hi, it's your Dad here".

Worst Injury: I snapped my knee ligaments. Ha, only joking! I've got a bit of a shoulder injury - we're doing a lot of lifts for our show dance so it has taken its toll on me a bit.

Favourite Judge: Len - he's the head judge and he doesn't mince his words.

Worst Judge: Arlene - she's tried to get us out of the competition twice in the dance-off. I thought she loved me, but obviously not.

Weight Lost: I've lost a stone and three pounds. The belly I was complaining about at the beginning has gone down.

Biggest Fan: My brother George - he's been to every show.

Celebrity Supporters: My fellow EastEnders cast members, including Kara Tointon, Kelly Shirlie and Barbara Windsor.

Most Fanciable Contestant/ DANCER: I really fancy Claudia Winkleman from It Takes Two.

Matt On Alesha: Alesha is an extremely talented dancer and naturally she finds it a lot easier than me. I hope she lets me win!
