Saturday night's episode attracted a peak of 11.2 million viewers, half a million fewer than watched the former journalist's farewell waltz the previous week.

The BBC One ballroom dancing contest has been lagging behind ITV1 talent show The X Factor in the ratings, and this weekend's dip will increase pressure on the programme's judges, who have been blamed for forcing Sergeant's exit.
