Dec 23 2008 John Mckie SAY what you like about Strictly Come Dancing, it got the whole country talking. Five weeks ago. Since then, like John Sergeant doing the paso doble with Kristina, it hasn't half dragged. It would be easy to blame four incredibly self-important, humourless judges who confused a light-entertainment piece of fluff with "a dancing competition". These four are such experts on dancing they mentioned the bloke from Holby City in the same breath as Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire. Blame for this sour series lies not with the expendable judges but the arrogant, uptight BBC producers. The fact there was still a dance-off last week when it got down to three couples shows just how the Beeb's control freaks want the phone vote cash, but don't trust the public decisions. Therefore, the public got revenge by voting Tom, the bloke who should have walked last week, as their winner just to annoy them. DailyRecord |
