The X Factor triumphed over Strictly Come Dancing for the second week in a row on Saturday, although the gap between the juggernauts narrowed a fraction.
BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, which began at 7.30pm and finished at 9.15pm averaged 7.9m (33.2%) over the near-two hour marathon.
The dance show started strongly with 7.6m (35%) and peaked at 8.7m (38%) at 7.55pm, but collapsed by nearly a million viewers within minutes of The X Factor beginning on ITV1.
The X Factor, which this week saw contestants battling it out at Boot Camp averaged 9.1m (36.6%) between 8pm and 9.15pm, peaking at 10.1m (39.5%) at 8.55pm.
Although X Factor was still the one to beat, the gap between the talent show and Strictly was 200,000 viewers closer than the week before.
