How about price comparing for this thread? I for one know that if I do my weekly shop then I find at least 10 items I bought cheaper else where.

It's all fine and dandy saying that we should remember the places where we find stuff cheaper, but with so many up and down offers it's tough to keep up to date with it all.

If anyone spots some black boots - just short of knee length, heel as big as possible - stilettoes - let me know please!!

Searched Birmingham for some yesterday, and didn't have any luck whatsoever!

The words 'Debenhams' and 'sale' bring back harsh memories for me... think along the lines of 'Gran' and 'lost'.

Bargains are fantastic :D However I only seem to buy stuff for pets nowadays! (well and friends and family sometimes!)

Hmm. Noted the Thornton's mentions earlier, and would like to suggest you all try an outfit called Hotel Chocolat. They've recently opened some shops around the place, after running a very successful mail order business. The quality is fabulous, sourcing chocs from all over Europe, and caters for all tastes. They also have a Chocolate Tasting Club which sends you newly designed chocs to taste and rate. Easy to find on the web. If you prefer buying your chocs in person, I can recommend Rococo Chocolates, Kings Rd, London for beautiful truffles, especially the pink champagne ones, novelty shapes of chocs eg nuts coated in crocant and heavily dipped in chocolate in brown and green colours to look like olives (taste utterly amazing), and different shapes of pralines, eg mini maize cobs, mushrooms, lifesize sticks of asparagus etc. The packaging is also beautiful. None of this is cheap, but it is some of the best chocolate in the world and, after all, it's nearly Christmas!

I don't think I'm allowed to post the websites of these shops, but if I am, someone tell me and I will.

Today I went shopping properly for the first time in ages. Was in desperate need of a new jacket because my black one is getting a bit scruffy because it is used for everything like going to school, dog walking and everything so needed one for going out and about. Unfortunately I can't find a picture of it online but shall keep looking - it is beige though and made with cord stuff, very cosy actually!

However, the best purchase of the day was this total beast...

Image

from M & S. This is taking pink and purple scarves to a new level and knocks my old one off the shelves!

Thanks also to my mother who is letting me pay for these things after Christmas (well the jacket, bought the scarf myself) because I need to buy Christmas presents  Managed to get wrapping paper today, a couple of cards and one wee thing, got a few ideas though - I just hate the busyness of the shops.

Checkout the massive January sale at http://www.play.com
Be careful with some of the boxsets as some are dearer than buying the contents seperately.
An example A Touch of Frost series 1-5 Boxset £48.99 but each of the five series are £8.99 total £44.95.
Series 6-10 Boxset £54.99 bought seperatly £44.97.
I bet with some searching you might find others.

But getting away from that it's a massive sale with loads of bargins you might find something you want.

lol Felicity, I bought it in November but am still in awe everytime I look at it (the scarf that is although I like the jacket too)

Actually, went shopping yesterday in town for the first time in agessss (other than one Sunday before Christmas but it feels like ages ago) and bought too much probably:

a pair of jeans
2 CDs (the Les Miserables soundtrack which I have been meaning to by for years and also the Anything Goes one as it was brilliantly cheap and I need to learn one of the songs...!)
a calendar

not too bad I don't suppose considering all but the jeans were reduced. Had to try on prom dresses as well as it is getting SCARILY close. Well when I say 'dresses' I mean 'one dress' because it was the only one I liked the look of and really liked it actually considering other than sparkly pink ones dresses aren't exactly my scene.

Much preferred shopping in Aberdeen when it was quiet, need to try and get another uni interview ::lol::

EDIT: Infact, while I'm on the subject of shopping for once, why oh why oh why oh WHY have the people at HMV Aberdeen moved all their soundtracks downstairs? Going up to that bit upstairs where it was all lovely and quiet and I tended to be the only one there used to be my favourite bit about going to Aberdeen shopping! Actually realised this the last time I was there but managed to conveniently forget until arriving yesterday. Downstairs at HMV is always so loud and busy :puke:

Sorry about that wee rant there but changes get to me no matter how big or small!
